FtPverse War AU

Because I said I'd talk about it

have a war mix to go with a war au (check out the war au's tumblr tag too)

which isn't?? Even??? 100% a "war" au?? Idk what to call it I threw the "war" label on it but I've also tentatively named it "Protectors of the Universe"

It's a concept that started with this dollmaker/dress up game which has a lot of fancy armor options
And I went through it and made a boring Roxas-in-normal-clothes one because I always try to do that
but then I made a Kairi
and put her in armor
(I don't even remember why)
And then I wanted to put everyone else in armor
and it went from there

This will make a little more sense if you see the pictures

 

now do you see where I'm coming from??

The setting is like a post book 5 (potentially post book 6) scenario where they're all in charge of protecting the worlds from stuff and they end up moving into a castle apparently and armor is a must
Sora's the Prince and Kairi's the Princess I guess (they'd end up King and Queen) while Ven is also a prince and Roxas and Shad are honorary Princes which is a Thing
(Roxas is only an honorary Prince because his connection to Sora is super weak in the FtPverse and Shad took Van's place but everyone's super reluctant to give him so much power--regardless of his stronger-than-Ven's connection to Sora--so he's only an honorary Prince)

LIKE IT'S LOOSELY BASED ON KAT'S HEADCANON'S OF SORA AND KAIRI BEING KING/QUEEN while VVR are the Princes and stuff
There's not a specific post of hers (I have saved) that goes over the hierarchy
But if you go through her kat talks and gay headcanon tags you'll pick some stuff up

There is this post about the KH gang after KH3 and sort of looking after the worlds and junk but that involves very little fighting while this war au involves A LOT of fighting

A lot of fighting
(Tho maybe only at the beginning while they try and get Heartless levels back down to Only Pureblood and junk and as time goes on everything dies down to Incredibly Peaceful)

OH OH AND IT'S INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT THAT IN THIS AU EVERYONE IS ALIVE (INCLUDING XION) AND ON THE SAME SIDE (HENCE SHAD BEING ACTUALLY HELPFUL)
WHY?
BECAUSE IT'S AN AU AND I CAN BE SELF INDULGENT (I could be self indulgent with anything FtP related to be honest it's my fanfic)

CHARACTER STUFF

I'm not going to reupload Sora and Kairi's pictures (and you can check the war au tags for Fancy Profiles)

Sora, like I said, is the Prince. Like Ven is a Prince but Sora's High Prince. It's like Narnia where Edmund is King but Peter's High King. They're both King but Peter's a little higher ranking
(Roxas and Shad are below Ven but equals with each other)

I really really like his armor. All gold and red. I think it fits him a lot. His shirt is teal because Book 5 outfits.

Kairi is in pink because. Kairi?? Idk I ended up giving her pink. She's technically a Princess but it's never actually come up yet whoops.
And yes. She has an axe. I am giving her an axe in book 5. You can't stop me

 

Namine and Riku!!!

Namine is a mage and junk--I gave her the cloak because. It looked cool?? But mages and cloaks. Yanno?

Riku's sort of your run of the mill warrior. Maybe. I gave him a sword but ACTUALLY THIS IS REALLY FUNNY if this happens post book 5 Things Happen that sort of maybe would hamper his ability to use a sword meaning he'd be left to basically magic alone

And it's funny because SoKai are warriors and Namiku are mages and then RokuShi is this like assassin/thief category
It wasn't even intentional

 

Roxas and Xion!! Like I said, sort of assassin/thief types. I really like Roxas's armor (I like all of the Prince's armor tbh)
Roxas of course gets two swords (tho Sora has two too technically)
and I know Xion looks hardly relevant to the "time period" and looks Super Modern Times but. This isn't even technically a medieval setting so???

Anyway they do a lot of stealth missions. Roxas ditches his armor for most of them. Armor makes a lot of noise.

Aqua, Terra, and Ven are all members of the High Guard. I'm not exactly sure what the High Guard does but I imagine they manage the castle's defenses or something. Protect the Princes. Yata yata.

They all get capes because duh

I forgot to give Aqua a sword SUPER WHOOPS
And I think maybe Ven's armor should've been green on blue (like his helmet) instead of blue on green but too late now (you basically can't go back an edit these things unless you want to stat from scratch)

 

Aaannd the last two. I'm not exactly happy with Joseph's design (they also don't offer younger faces) but!! I like Shad's!!
(shhhhh who cares if it's not entirely practical. He doesn't. He picked it out. For the most part they're fighting Heartless anyway and Heartless can't hurt him. Then again he may not be able to hurt them. huh...........)

Shad gets a cape because he thinks capes are cool (i've designed other outfits for him and they usually involve a long cloak like jacket--I couldn't give him a cloak bc helmet tho)

Shad fights with chains alone (and darkness) while Joseph excels with long ranged weapons (and magic)
