Prequel

I am not writing a Prequel, this is just a page describing events that happened before the Truth Hurts that aren't included in BBS or CoM.

This includes: Even creating the Replica Program, Sora and Kairi as kids, everything related to Zack/the HB gang, and also, currently, the events of FF8 as they happen within FtPverse

Timeline notes!

The Prequel Timeline is an extensive timeline of all events ft the HB gang / FF crew that take place before the Truth Hurts, including not just dates and events, but details about them as well.

There's a lot of events on here, and, waaaaay too much to sum up here (plus you miss all the cool details), but these are the biggest ones of note (and, um, an age sheet if you want it):

• Aerith and Leon, er, Squall, helped their mother (Elmyra) run a psuedo healing business
• Zack and Cloud met in Olympus, Zack recruited Cloud for his freelance mercenary business (which was only semi-successful at first, he crashed at the Gainsborough house a lot)
• Yuffie was orphaned at a young age and lived on the streets up until Radiant Garden fell to darkness and Cid/Squall/Aerith found and kind of adopted her. (Well, she allowed herself to be adopted, she was 13 when that happened.)
• The Events of FF8 are a thing that Zack and Aerith also participate in (see below)
• Rinoa takes five years to get serious about sorceress training
• There's a point where all, er, eight of them? wait, seven (Aerith/Leon/Zack/Rinoa/Cid/Cloud/Tifa, Yuffie isn't a part of the group yet) sit around the Gainsborough house and just, laugh and trade stories and meals. Maybe this is a regular thing, maybe it's not, but it's gotta happen at least once. It's really important to me.
• Zack dies, of course, by Xehanort's hand
• Sephiroth is spawned from Cloud's darkness and his guilt
• ((Rinoa's around to help fight Sephiroth, btw. Neato.))
• Radiant Garden falls to darkness, HB gang moves to Traverse Town
• Leon changes his name
• Aerith and Leon both face bouts of depression

Er, that's it

Sephiroth is eventually defeated, and then Rinoa gets serious about sorceress training a year or two before TTH starts, swearing she'll keep contact to her friends to a minimum so she can focus.

This is the bare basics. You'll want to check out the full timeline. I'm dead serious about this. (And also spent a lot of time on it, please read my hard work).

Oh, and there's also, this??

• Technically, Xehanort caused minor-undercover havoc in Radiant Garden for three years before turning himself and the rest of Ansem's apprentices into Heartless/Nobodies ((being one of Ansem's apprentices meant you could get away with a lot of things so long as Ansem did not know about them or have reason to suspect you, and Xehanort was more than abusing the luxury of having a new young body and all his memories to match)) 

THE EVENTS OF FF8 BECAUSE THEY'RE, ACTUALLY BIG

I was initially running on the "like in Magik's universe Rinoa showed up looking for help and found Squall" the main difference being she was actually looking for a mercenary to help her and the Timber Owls, and a star shard took her to Aerith's house because Zack was there but she took one look at Squall and went YUP HIM and Zack was like YUP HIM and Squall couldn't get a word in.

Then I thought, hey, you know what would be interesting? If all three of them just went. 

So instead of just having Squall go off for a year or so to participate in the events of FF8, Squall AND Zack AND Aerith go off for a year or so to participate in the events of FF8.

I'm calling it a "KH context AU where Zack and Aerith replace Irvine and Selphie" and have a lot of ideas boiling for it. I'll probably write it at some point, the question is just whether I can juggle it and ATR or if I need to wait until ATR is over to tackle it. From the looks of things, I'll have to wait until ATR is over.

In the mean time, it has a tag on my tumblr where I'm slowly building ideas. ((Though, since I do intend to write it, I can't give everything away now can I?))

The whole labeling it as an AU thing is just to make it approachable to non-FtPverse fans, but, it's definitely 100% FtPverse canon and I'm really excited about it.

Related to the Replica Program

• Even had a semi-successful Replica Program running before Xehanort plunged the world into darkness wow rude
• He and Ienzo had been working on it for a few years
• They only had like 5 successful Replicas tho and only one of them survived the world being plunged to darkness, maybe,
