As I said in the chapter, I was staying with magik, and thing's got a little hectic. I mean, I suppose I had plenty of time to upload a chapter, but it kept slipping my mind. And by the time I remembered, I was on a writing/feel venting binge and it seemed like a really really really bad idea to interrupt it
And then I was at a con.
Maybe I'll upload pictures from the con?? At least of my cosplays. (I did Aerith, Len, and a steampunk Link.) I don't think I have any pictures that don't include magik and our friend, tho, so I'll have to ask if it's cool with them. (And at that point I'm only positive I have pics of the steampunk Zelda where it's just us... haha.... I'm sure someone on facebook has photos)

Yeah Riku’s totally
reading the Cimorene books eheh (the "Enchanted Forest Chronicles" or "Dealing with Dragons" and the rest of the series, if that helps)
As for why Riku’s reading Dealing with Dragons—well, I wanted a book that could reasonably be on Aerith’s shelf and that he’d pick up. The books are definitely something I see Aerith—or maybe Yuffie—enjoying, and they were published back in the 1990s, which means they’re all set to be on that shelf. (I couldn’t have newer books, seeing as Hollow Bastion was plunged into darkness and remained that way for three/four years, so anything after the year 2006ish was shot—the series takes place in 2010. Sorta)
The tall bookshelf is a
collection of all the books they’ve salvaged from their homes. So Aerith’s
medical books and then Cid’s manuals and then Leon’s got some books and maybe
Yuffie has a few kids books she’s holding onto for nostalgia’s sake. So, that tall
bookshelf was probably bought/built after rediscovering Hollow Bastion and
Aerith’s house. Yeah.

No see the story behind
the picture? Zack and Aerith were posing just normally—Zack with his arm around
Aerith though, of course. Then Zack moved at the last second; he either tripped
or someone pushed him or he was just trying to be silly. So, y’know, he about
knocked Aerith over and Aerith’s like “really Zack?? Was that really
necessary?” but it’s not like she minded that much because she loves him so

THE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON—WAIT NO. no those aren’t old enough. The Cimorene
books are really really old so it’s possible Aerith has them, while the How to
Train Your Dragon books are fairly new…
Idk if it’s going to make
it in but, Riku has trouble with books because sitting still. (it did make it in.) Which is why he doesn’t read a whole lot, but he
survived here by pacing with the book while he was reading. However, you can
only pull that off with so many books. Probably. (Plus if the book isn’t
interesting within the first five pages he’ll give up. He only didn’t here
because he was determined to see what Sora was going on about and there wasn’t
much better to do—plus I think the first five pages of this book are good?
Maaaybe? Idk I think it focuses on Linderwall but I think Riku just kept
reading because he had nothing better to do)
He was gonna read all the
way to the third book, but then I decided the parallels between Mendanbar and
Cimorene in the second book could provide food for thought for him—comparing
them to him and Namine (or maybe Sora and Kairi, idk if he’s comfortable to
think of Namine quite in that way) also Telemain is like Vexen and maybe Morwen
reminds him of someone but yeah I think the second book would provide better
things for him to think about if I wanted to touch on that which I might idk
BUT I’D RATHER HAVE THE OPTION OPEN THAN HAVE TO GO BACK AND CHANGE IT
Plus those books take me
2/3 hours to read apiece and even if Riku’s a quicker reader than me I’m sure
it took him a bit to get into it because he was trying to sit still and anyway
he has maybe three hours before Aerith’s up so—idk actually if it’s been five
hours and they ate dinner at 6 ish then it’s actually 11 but?? Uhm?? Idk in my
head it’s 1-3 in the morning idk

Idk part of this is write what you want to write because
it’s fanfic so, while, yeah, it’s
unnecessary, I WANTED THE TREASURE CHEST SCENE AND
THE BOOK SCENE PROVIDED TRANSITION

reading these books because he was like “okay Sora’s into this sort of thing
what’s the fuss about” and he was bored and had nothing better to do so
Aerith is cleaning?? Idk
what she does all day I know Yuffie sort of just keeps herself occupied through
whatever means she can and sometimes she helps Aerith because that’s what she
does but idk what Aerith’s doing now. Maybe dishes? You really should do those every day/every other day

Aerith with the dishes because Aerith does those by herself for some reason—I
think it has something to do with Zack
