ATR chapter 25 commentary!

Update wise:

I'm probably going to start posting chapters ever "three" days vs every "five". Or, I'm going to attempt to, anyway. As everyone knows by now, a nine chapter buffer is nice, except when there's at least a month gap between writing a chapter and posting it, and that gets a little!! annoying!! So I'm going to try and fix that. Again.


Other news:

I started watching a playthrough of Sonic 06 which is kind of??? so bad it's funny?? Though actually when you really think about it it's probably just on par w/ KH for being "ridiculous"

Also his and his friend's commentary is pretty funny!! I stayed up til 2AM on Sunday watching him stream it, and I do not regret it a bit.

I made!! A new family feels playlist!! It wasn't made for FtPverse specifically, but it was made with FtPverse in mind because it's really hard for me to make a mix about adopted family and not think of the HB gang + Riku??

Chapter commentary under the cut as always!

It took me a bit but once I got into it I was actually Really Feeling this chapter.

I’M SO!! UPSET!! About Namine’s development I’m so upset how far this has broken her.

In my brainstorm I noted how that Sora’s talk about his feelings made her feel no better, and I had to write not only a note pointing that out, but further pointing out, word for word “she cannot tell him that it only made her feel worse. and it is not in her—not anymore—to snap at him, to scream, you don’t know what it’s like”

She cannot cannot handle being violent anymore

Sora wouldn’t have pressed her into doing it if she’d told him, but, she’s got anxiety so she can’t even get to the point where she tells him she’s scared

Because she can

she can hurt him (not that he think she’d last long in a fight with him, but he wouldn’t tell her that)

the important bit is that she wouldn’t

she wouldn’t hurt him

This is a small thing I’m sure no one will notice but Sora does nothing but hold her tightly and hug her tightly—he does not stroke her hair does not rub her arms or her back he does nothing but hold her. And those things are not, like, inherently romantic or anything, but they are very intimate, and a strong secure hug does just as much if not more when you’re panicking like that—nothing more is really necessary

ALSO THIS NOTE

“You mean that?” Sora asks her, when she says it's okay.
He is really sensitive to emotions, to people’s feelings, if only through her body language—which cannot be saying she’s happy, or really okay—or just because that’s him, that’s how Sora is

THIS IS A BRIEF NOTE, and, like, I get Sora in FtPverse has not had the time nor the experiences to fully develop his Heart and have it Connect with people, but that’s also an inborn ability he has, it’s something he’s always had, and while it was strengthened in KH canon by his experiences, and dampened in FtPverse for the same, it is still there, and it, at the very least, works when he’s with his friends
