It’s not that Mickey isn’t strong like he’s not a heavy hitter type he’s definitely a lightweight and of course to be lightweight you sacrifice strength but it’s not that he can’t carry Sora it’s that there’s an awful height difference between them and he definitely wasn’t holding Sora right to support that y’know?

They wouldn’t interfere I don’t see them doing that like Goofy wouldn’t ever and Donald might but he’s also pretty good about that??? like he’d have to be really in a mood to interrupt anything between Mickey and Minnie and he def wouldn’t like after Mickey just got home after he’s been gone for a while

It’s still a little jarring to me that Mickey isn’t like,,,,, uncomfortable with being called your majesty (in kh canon) I bet he tells Donald and Goofy to knock it off but they refuse they would ahhhhh

Goofy probably tells him it’s not like he minds he thinks it’s great that his best friend is a king

And Donald probably thinks something along those lines too but he’s not as vocal about it

Every reason I love you right here.” and of course he leaves to go rest like she told him to oh my gosh

The Goofy and Donald scene was an afterthought but it was too cute to not include.

anyway time to rant about Mickey and Minnie yayayyyyyy

It’s so cute tho because Mickey’s like “I didn’t know what to do so I brought him here” aka “I came to you” and Minnie just gives a him look like “yup. That sounds about right” because they’ve literally been doing this for as long as they’ve known each other

Mickey goes “what do I do what do I do?” and it isn’t all the time but it’s semi-frequent and when he doesn’t know what to do he goes to Minnie. (provided he thinks she’ll have an answer for him but then again I see him going to her for literally everything I can’t imagine him not being completely transparent with her)

I mean in some of their old cartoons he’d not tell her something to cover up a mistake until he could fix it but like in my headcanon this stuff in KH is literally yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars after that happened so he’s probably learned his lesson and yeah sometimes he doesn’t tell her (when he’s embarrassed or there isn’t time or if he thinks she’ll get really mad probably idk. Largely just the first two.)

BUT ANYWAY YEAH LIKE side tangent it’s literally a little jarring to me to think that he didn’t tell Minnie he was leaving in KH1 and tells Donald to apologize for him like that doesn’t feel like Mickey but I suppose if it was all of a sudden Yen Sid called him and was like “MICKEY THERE IS A PROBLEM IT NEEDS TO SOLVED NOW” and Mickey was like “OH UH YEAH IT DOES I GUESS I NEED TO GO” so he did and there wasn’t time to go wake Minnie up and tell her??

Or he didn’t want to wake her??

But if she was already awake I think he’d tell her I’m so conflicted I have trouble imagining him being anything but completely transparent with her tho he could be a little forgetful sometimes that sounds like Mickey

So scenario again Yen Sid calls it’s the middle of the night and then Mickey forgets to tell Minnie he just rushes off after jotting down a quick note to Donald potentially I don’t know if he has time to tell Donald he’ll have time to tell Minnie but

If he wrote the note and then “well poo that was enough time wasted and Minnie’s sleeping and I don’t wanna wake her…” hence the PS to Donald because it’s something of an afterthought maybe he intended to tell her but figured he’d wasted too much time already I’M GOING TO KEEP GOING OVER THIS SCENARIO UNTIL I AM HAPPY WITH IT SORRY but that last one sounds okay

Shad scrunches up his face like Matt does 

tho if you haven't watched Stupid Mario Brothers you wouldn't know what I'm saying. Maybe I can get a pic. This was a while ago I'll have to remember which face scrunch it is and then find a cap of Matt making it

Actually tbh in general Shad is channeling Matt I clearly had watched Stupid Mario Brothers recently

(I can literally see Matt turning around and roaring "then why did you come to me!?" well he's never said those words specifically and it's so much anger ahhhhh sorry Matt's just a really good actor)

But yeah I'm not going to be able to find the face scrunch I know he says "what the crap?" as he makes it but that is a very commonly used phrase in the series and there are 75 potential episodes it could be in. 

I wanted to use Mickey's Shadow Tongue name so I did. Tho I was a little surprised when I read back through it and saw his name in Shadow Tongue because I usually cut that stuff out. 

(The wolf speaks in Shadow Tongue frequently but often I just. Have him not.)

I translated his name in the last blog post. So go look at that. I don't want to type it up again.

IT IS ALSO NOT PRONOUNCED RAY-REE LIKE IT LOOKS. IT IS RAY-RAI. I finally conditioned myself to ray-rai (I think) but I always default to ray-ree because that's how you'd pronounce Raeri were it japanese.

OH! and fun Shadow Tongue fact--Mickey's full name is of course Hyri Jara ni Raeri but the wolf shortened it because you usually do like Shad would probably be just simply called Sheto ni Sura and all of their Zecchnor's are called Zecchnor ____ aka whatever their letter is

tho the Angel goes by Hyri Anches but that's. I think that's a personal preference. The Knight does too. Hydrx Knable. It may be since they're so high ranking you don't have another Angel or Knight. Idk. Let's move to the next point.

Yes those are Pain and Panic but do you think Shad knows their names? Hahahahahahahahaahhahhahaahha

I’ve stopped using thoughts tbh?????? ?????? not sure why I’ve just sorta stopped. I mean you hardly ever have a character comment to themselves in thought format about anything. I think I put it into the text? Or?? something??

But I rarely use thoughts anymore ever. It's. Yeah.

Wow Shad has zero patience all of a sudden uh

I had a thought where one of them was like “do you have a name?” and he just very tersely and seriously says “no” and he’s frowning and they just kind of stare at him like “oh”

Maybe Hades asks??????

(Hades starts to get mad at Pain and Panic for taking too long and Shad's like "no really it was my fault" ahhhhhh)

And suddenly it's Shad's wolf

(he hardly ever says "my wolf" or in story text "his wolf". It's always "the wolf" but now it's "his wolf" I am over explaining)

NOTES FROM MY BRAINSTORM:

“what’s that?” Shad asks, coming over and examining the pieces of the display (probably picks up one of mickey ahhahalsjf hades no)

Wait why am I saying no to hades????

I said this on tumblr but I should say it here. The wolf is so sarcastic I almost think he would've made a better cat.

"Oh. You want me to check. I see."

There was going to be a scene with Mickey vs the wolf for like four seconds but it was easier to cut it and now Hades is just going to stare confusedly between them I love this this is hilarious yaaaaaayyyyyyyy

ALSO IT WAS COMEDIC FOR SHAD TO BE LIKE “oh where sora is isn’t imp—WIAT YOU KNOW WHERE HE IS TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME”

Awwwww I’ll have to cut it

“Would… Maleficent be interested in going after [Disney castle]?” Shad asks

“Why?” Hades is a little skeptical

“I just need to get her and Sora in the same place… and if she’s doing real estate”

“Ah!” and Hades gets it “Hmm” but his face falls “I’m not sure if she’d be dumb enough to try, though”

“You were--”

“I was entertaining the thought, nothing more!!” he waves Shad off impatiently

Which was pure gold also references magik oh well I think we’re probably better with out it long sigh

aaannnd here is my potential design for such an outfit!

of course, Shad's never gonna get a chance to wear it. But. It exist. And I think it's a really nice design. Quite proud of it.
