Riku's like really awkwardly tall and it's adorable. Real Thing hit his growth spurt with like, confidence (he still slouches tho ha) but Riku hit it real awkwardly and he always slouches because he doesn't like towering over people because now he's like nearly a foot taller than everyone and it bugs him.

(Okay well he's nearly a foot taller than Namine and quite a few inches taller than Aerith and basically taller than everyone)

But he slouches all the time and I made a note on tumblr

that Aerith is always like grabbing him by the shoulders when she catches him slouching and straightens him out with a firm “you’re going to ruin your back if you keep that up. End up like Cid” and Cid shouts his protests from wherever he is in the house because he magically heard that despite his awful hearing

Now that Riku's tall  Joseph constantly runs up behind him and then jumps and clings onto his shoulders and he nearly makes Riku fall back on him the first time but Riku eventually gets used to it because Joseph won’t stop doing it

(Joseph has always loved piggy back rides but he got too old for them veeeeeeeeeeeery quickly except now Riku’s awkwardly tall and pretty strong so. he’s good for another few years when he gets definitely Too Big for that sort of thing)

THO I MENTIONED LATER THAT JOSEPH PROBABLY ACCIDENTALLY NEARLY RIPS RIKU'S SHOULDER OUT OF PLACE AGAIN and Aerith has to tell him to stop. Or at least stop launching himself at Riku because you're definitely going to screw his shoulder up worse please stop.

OH H OH OH and the best thought is Riku being taller than Vexen just think about it it's like the best thought ever okay

And yeah I'm well aware of the fact since Riku's definitely hit the growth spurt at some point during Dead Inside his clothes are getting a little small for him but

But Dead Inside has about two weeks of in-story time left and it's reaaaallll pointless to get him new clothes now when he's gonna get some right after Dead Inside so

(I entertained the thought for a while of him like making a new style out of his ill fitting clothes or something idk really)

Tho I doubt he noticed exactly entirely because given how torn his shirt is by this point it's a miracle it even stays on him anymore so he wouldn't have noticed if it was too tight or anything.

(And even then I doubt anything got tight on him it just got short ??? I think)

Ahhh I'd bring up Riku's height in Dead Inside but I'm literally one plot point away from endgame and from a story standpoint it's stupid to bring it up NOW. I should've brought it up like twenty or so chapters ago but it slipped my mind until recently that he'd gotten taller

In fact I forget on a frequent basis that he grows freakishly tall, just like I forget Shad/Sora wears gloves and Sora's got a necklace (not that he does right now) and that Namine doesn't have pockets

OH A GOOD ANALOGY HERE would be y'know how in KH2 Namine's dress is a little shorter? It's because it's the same dress she's just gotten taller so by comparison the dress got shorter (A+ attention to details in KH really)

Also Sora had ill-fitting KH1 clothes for a while too so

That's what's going on with Riku. And actually all of the cast like Sora technically hasn't grown TERRIBLY noticeably but I'm sure his clothes are getting a little small and Namine's dress is getting small and we talked about Riku

and Kairi had a change of clothes so

ANYWAY ENOUGH ABOUT CLOTHES LET'S CONTINUE

Gee I just had the whole “Riku whatcha doin?” thing in my head and she was sitting up in bed like she’d just woken and they were in his room and so she was in his bed and I YEAH BASICALLY THAT THOUGHT PROCESS WENT

And then I was like “whaT WAIT I LEFT YOU ALONE FOR LIKE TWO HOURS AFTER YOU CONFESSED YOU LOVED EACH OTHER HMMMMM I WONDER WHAT YOU GOT UP TO”

But then I realized this is technically a day or three later

So I don’t have to deal with that problem now

(my biggest problem is acutally making this work ha)

THO I STILL DID LEAVE THEM ALONE AFTER THAT HMMM WHAT DID THEY GET UP TO MAYBE THEY GOT UP TO THINGS

they were talking about the meltdowns and Namine was like “so happy memories when we kissed” and riku was like “was that really what happened” “well that FELT like what was going on” “hmm y’know. We could. Find out.”

AND THEN I TOLD THEM NO AND THEY WERE LIKE BUT FOR SCIENCE

Munny is basically yen and 1 yen is approximately the equivalent of 1 cent (US currency) meaning 2000 munny is $20 and 50 thou is $500

(idk how much 500 dollars is gonna do for anyone in such a big project as fixing up a town—realistically—but it’s still a very generous gift)

If you want to you can just google “yen to –insert currency here-” and google has its own conversion thing. I know most of my readers are US but I know some are UK and some are Canadian and there are a few from other countries here and there so. Yeah. Google is your friend!

(also like I’m not 10000% positive on munny = yen but it’s a Japanese game and it’d make a lot of sense if it was)

Like new games go for $50 but used games tend to go for $20 (unless they’re rare, famous, or cruddy. Rare games can go for hundreds. So can famous games but most used game stores sell ‘em for about $30-$50 depending on the game (Luigi’s Mansion is going for $30 but FF7 tends to gofor $40). Cruddy/not well known games tend to be under $10. I can get Thrillville for like $6)

No but like I get how it’s poetic and “romantic” the whole “I want to spend forever in your arms” thing but it’s not. Realistic. Riku loves Namine and loves her a whole lot but it’s not. One of those things where everything fades if he’s with her
