SO I'VE REDISCOVERED HOW MUCH I LOVE PAPER MARIO

AND AS SUCH HAVE BEEN TOO BUSY THINKING AND RETHINKING THE ENDING OF SUPER PAPER MARIO TO ACTUALLY WRITE whoops it's been like a week since I've written

I did write a Super Paper Mario ficlet if anyone's interested, along with various other Paper Mario related thoughts. At the moment it's all SPM with some TTYD but I'm sure in the future--well actually I'll probably only actively blog about SPM and TTYD seeing as I didn't really like the original Paper Mario and haven't played Sticker Star

But y'know

I also made a Paper Mario blog. It's currently the only active one on tumblr. I'd appreciate it if it got more recognition because it's only got 11 followers at the moment, and there's gotta be more Paper Mario fans than that!

NOW UPDATE WISE UHM

I don't think I'll be updating the fic until sometime past Christmas? A little Christmas break if you will--really I just don't intend to upload anything this week!

I may write a Christmas feels chapter tho and post it! Or I may not! You can probably expect Christmas Headcanons ported over to this blog at some point this week, though. I'll definitely try and do that (and try and come up with more headcanons than just for the HB gang)

TIME TO SHAMELESSLY PROMOTE STUPID MARIO BROTHERS

Because in the midst of all the Super Paper Mario feels I rewatched the Stupid Mario Bros movie and

TBH I THINK YOU SHOULD ALL GO WATCH IT ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE NINTENDO AND MARIO AND ARE A FAN OF KH because they actually incorporate a lot of KH elements. Especially in the movie and in subsequent seasons

My advice? Watch the movie. You can skip strait to Act 2 if you want to, because Act 1 is literally unimportant to the plot besides giving you something of an introduction of the characters and being ridiculously hilarious. 

But after you watch the movie, you can from there decide if you want to watch the rest of the series or not. It's completely up to you, I just think if you're a fan of KH or Super Paper Mario you'll enjoy the movie

Also I more than likely subconsciously based Shad off of "the Darkness" aka Shadow Mario from here. Whoops.

(Funnily enough I knew where I was going with Shad before everything about the Darkness was revealed though, making further similarities between them a coincidence. A scary coincidence tho.)

NOW I'M GOING TO LINK YOU ACT 2 PART 6 OF THE MOVIE FOR REASONS DISCUSSED BELOW

headphones definitely recommended because this is a fight scene and y'know how fight scenes are (obnoxiously loud and junk)

(also yes there is minor swearing but it's reaaaaall minor maybe one or two words)

Why Act 2 part 6?? I know you're all wondering it but I have very distinct reasons for linking to this part

1) Richie playing Shadow Mario
2) Matt as Wario

THIS IS LITERALLY SOME OF THEIR BEST ACTING Riche and Matt are probably the two best actors of the cast and you can just see it here

(Matt's frikken smirk at the beginning. Matt's smirk in general. Also Richie's frikken laugh.)

IF YOU DO INTEND TO ACTUALLY WATCH THE MOVIE THO YOU SHOULD PROBABLY NOT WATCH THIS AND JUST GO TO ACT 2 PART 1 (or Act 1 Part 1, which I linked to above)

But yeah this is some of their best acting and it's their best actors facing off against each other it's good. It's nice. Yeah.
(Also you can probably see how I subconsciously based Shad off of the Darkness. heh.)


TIME TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST ABOUT THE SERIES
I do think listing downsides is probably one of the worst ways to get someone to watch something but I'd rather be brutally honest upfront than have to like explain myself later or anything

Please keep in mind that if you go back and watch earlier seasons (which you'll probably want to, but I started with the movie and there's no harm in you starting with it) their acting will, obviously, not be anywhere near on par.
They're no older than 18 (I think) in Seasons 1 and 2, and clearly haven't been acting for long so of course they aren't perfect. You aren't born an actor you aren't born anything more than human you have to develop talents.
They obviously get better at acting over time, and the plot picks up, too!

(Season 1 is literally about a half hour total of them just goofing off but the plot definitely picks up by Season 3. And you get to watch them get better at acting. Frik yeah.)


ON ANOTHER NOTE I MAY HAVE LIVEBLOGGED ROUGHLY WATCHING THE MOVIE IF YOU'RE INTERESTED


AND THAT'S DEFINITELY IT

I was maybe going to talk a little more about the Darkness and Shad and how they're similar but I should wait until Dead Inside's over because it'll be over within a couple of months and then I'll be able to talk about EVERYTHING and not have to be cryptic about Shad and stuff

So I will wait!

(Tho if you do watch the SMB Movie and subsequent seasons it won't be too hard to guess where I'm going with Shad because like I said the similarities between him and the Darkness are scary as heck. Largely because I definitely decided what I was doing with Shad before SMB was even close to finished)



waaaiit I'm sorry I'm not done rambling I wanna real quick mention that I ACTUALLY HAVE ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF DEAD INSIDE PLANNED. WHOA. Not every single little detail but close to it!!

We're actually real close to Endgame like Endgame begins ch201. WELL Disney Castle sequence starts at ch201 but Disney Castle will overlap into Endgame like Endgame starts before Disney Castle finishes we might as well be at endgame

Rough chapter estimate I'd say 50 chapters? From 200 to the end?
And if we stick to the fact I average a chapter every three days that's 150 days which is 5 months which isn't.... too bad. I might get things done quicker I might get things done slower but I think 5 months is a safe estimate.

I said I'd be finished this Spring last time I gave an estimate, and this estimate says early summer! That's not bad!

While I'm at it if you wanna snoop both Disney Castle and Endgame have tags on my tumblr and while I'm usually real good at keeping spoilers hush hush (especially for things in endgame) I might let something slip. If anyone's interested
(I can't tell if my fanbase is the kind that will eat up any leaked information or if they prefer to be surprised. Hmm.)
