So... there was a large delay with this sequence (sort of Q and A thing)

The heckuvalong raid sequence? Taking forever? I know.

(Note: This is a sort of Q and A thing, or maybe FAQ would be the proper term. Not sure. But I'm answering all the questions concerning delays I'm sure some of you are going to ask, or would probably like to know the answers to. Also, I have started posting. Ch142 is up, and regular updates will commense)

Why did it take so long?

Because it required a lot of plotting and brainstorming and writing, because I wasn't about to slap a half-baked attempt on this sequence and call it done. It seems blasphemous, this being such a big plot point and all.

Also, I wanted to make sure there would be 13 chapters, so I could do a little chapter title trend which would only work if I had 13 chapters. (Of course, the sequence looks like it'll be 14 chapters, but... I can work with that)

Will delays like this happen again?

Probably not.

While, yes, my fic is getting more in-depth and I'm putting a lot more though into where I'm taking it and how I'm writing it, delays like this shouldn't happen again. What delayed this sequence so much was my decision to wait until I had all 13 chapters finished to start posting. As we can all tell from the Lightning sequence (ch126-133) (I need to make a list of my sequence names and post them somewhere) my fic/chapters are capable of being deep and complicated and thought out without it taking two months.

Had I not waited to finish writing all 13 chapters before posting, things would've been delayed a month. If not less.

Thus, 2-month delays are not likely to happen again. Savvy?

However

There is, of course, the dreadful chance that I'll get terribly sick (I lost my January to being sick, don't you remember? Three infections.) or get in a serious funk (also feasible). In these cases, I might not write, and thus won't be able to update.

I don't promise 2-month delays won't happen again. There are a million things that could make them happen. But I promise that I won't wait to write all 13 chapters of a sequence before I post them again.
Also, I don't think I have another sequence planned that's over 10- wait. There is that one HB thing... But besides that and endgame (which almost doesn't count), I won't have any sequences over 10 chapters ever again, so we shouldn't run into this problem a second time.

Regular updating will start up again, right?

Sure will. It'll be at least one chapter a week, if not two a week. Depends on how fast I write.

~

I feel like there were more things I had to cover. Huh. If you'd like to know what's going on concerning delays and further information as to why this took so long, just let me know. Put your question in a comment below. Send me an ask on tumblr; if it's fic related, I really don't mind porting it over to this blog. Contact me somehow with your questions.

All in all, I'm basically saying that 2-month delays won't happen again, barring any unforeseen and undesirable circumstances. This delay only happened because I insisted on writing all 13 chapters before posting it, and because I also had to stop halfway through and rewrite the whole thing.

Anyway

Gonna go make that list for my sequence names now.
