Riku's not very happy with me

I just admitted to myself that I'd grown fond of the odd fatherly relationship Vexen has with Riku, and fond of Vexen treating Riku like a son (though Riku will continue to hate every second of it).

See, I was reading this story:

Which I found on Flightfoot's profile (can't remember why I was on their profile). It looked interesting, and figuring it was a oneshot (I didn't actually check) I'd read it for pure curiosity's sake and I had nothing better to do with my time at the moment.

It turned out not to be a oneshot, which is fine. (I just assume that most stories with a "complete" status are.) And I ended up really loving the story. If you have time, you should go read it; it is well written (though the end was a tad rushed) and the characters are portrayed wonderfully.

Anyway, so after reading that (and it's sequel: which was a oneshot, and I don't think I'll read the one after that) I went and read this:

Which is a sidestory focused on Even and the only remaining Vexen Replica (according to their canon)

Of course, the way they handled Replicas in my universe put me on edge, because it completely contradicts my own canon, but that aside, the story nearly had me in tears. It was wonderfully written, really pulled at my heartstrings, made me both mad at Vexen and not mad at him and-- It was good. If you don't read the other story, fine, go read this one though!
Nah, jk, you don't have to. But it was really good.

And it was this story, mixed with Even's (I keep trying to call him Vexen... erg) actions in the other story towards Ienzo (in most of the flashbacks) and an OC (I won't say who) that made me really start liking the protective/fatherly side of him.

Riku is glaring at me as I type.

Anyway, that's really all I have to say right now. I have... block for Dead Inside. I don't want to call it block, though, I want to just call it me being too lazy/distracted to write, because I think that's what it is. Shad being all.... errgghh at the moment isn't helping, though.

So... yeah.
