"Speak of the devil..." (DIch145, along with some ASASch43+44)

Hmm... I don't have anything to say up front. 'cept I don't have any music suggestions. Not enough battle going on. (Lol my notes say "nothing explicitly epic is happening.")
Maybe try "Call to Arms" by Two Steps from Hell but no guarantees. It's in my notes, but I didn't actually CHECK and listen to it to be sure if it fit or not.

~to my notes!~

So apparently I considered starting with Vexen at the beginning of this chapter? Maybe? I don't remember that, but I think that's what my notes are saying. I scrapped it because it broke the flow, apparently. *shrugs*

Anyway, reading through this, I realized something about 26. He doesn't call it "the Program" like nearly everyone else, he calls it "Master Vexen's Program". At least most of the time, and certainly more frequently than anyone else does.

OKAY LET'S JUST SKIP TO THE END OF THE SEQUENCE

Actually, it's not random. The first two scenes in this chapter were part of the first take, and I kept them/didn't rewrite them along with everything else. Lemme scroll down in my notes document and I'll see if I have anything.

ALSO GUYS PLEASE REMIND ME TO POST EXTRA STUFF TO ASAS. I have stuff from ch2 and ch3 and now I'll have stuff from ch4 and I really really need to post it! Actually, y'know what, I'm just gonna upload the stuff from ch2 and ch3 now. Mmmhmmm

Here's the stuff from ch2, which is mainly just scrapped snippets of what it would've looked like if Demyx had shown up.

And... here's the stuff from ch3--which is mainly a few scrapped snippets and original drafts.

Do I have any specific notes on these chapters? Mm... Amaryllis and 7 were kind of a jerk to Vexen in that first scene in the scrapped stuff from ch3.

Oh! I'd also intended for Thistle to get injured, originally, but I changed it to Snapdragon because Snapdragon was already intent on attacking Xemnas, so why injure Thistle for no reason? It made most sense for Snapdragon to be injured, anyway.

ANYWAY!

Now back to the chapter I just posted to Dead Inside (ch4 of this sequence)

I looked through my doc as well as I could, but I don't see any notes on this chapter. Huh. I can't think of anything to say for the snippet with 26 and Axel.

As for Vexen and Alpha... ah... the original draft was much worse? Aha. It was. *barfs at teh thought* I might not post that one to ASAS, but... then again I might not even look at it and just throw it up there anyway with everything else.

I do have a brain vomit, though! I sat down and just had Vexen and Alpha talk back and forth and didn't think too much about what they were saying and stuff. Idk. I'll go ahead and give you that, though.

(Most of the dialogue made it into the chapter in some shape or form, but there was some wording that was changed, and a few lines that got dropped. pull the scene and this up side by side and compare them, if you want. xD)

Alpha: The assassins are there to keep me from following Axel. I’m surprised they’re still there, really, I thought they had shorter attention spans.
Alpha: As for Xemnas… well, how long did it take you to get here?
Vexen: Two minutes, tops, I guess. Can’t have been more than that, and I actually highly doubt it even took that long—
Alpha: Well, this is Xemnas. He’s…. Xemnas. Do you really expect anything different from him?
Vexen: No, not really, I suppose. But. It’s still annoying. And weird. And what are they even doing!?!?!
Alpha: Vexen, calm down. I—I’m not sure what they’re doing, to be honest. I can’t tell. They’re talking, obviously.
Vexen: About what?
Alpha: I don’t know. The audio isn’t working for some reason
Vexen: That’s… convenient
Alpha: Tell me about it. It’s probably been jammed.
Vexen: Any ideas of what they might be doing?
Alpha: No, not really, they’re at the computer. That’s all
Vexen: So… can they even do anything? I thought… I thought that it was impossible to anything drastic without the main Computer. Otherwise, they would’ve done something drastic already
Alpha: Well, that’s true
Vexen: Then… *laughs nervously but excitedly* then they can’t do anything, can they? (feeling confident, now). They don’t have the main computer!
Alpha: Well, actually—
Vexen: The Main Computer’s here. Not there.
Alpha: It… doesn’t really matter what computer you’re at, provided you have the Main Computer functions…
(Vexen considers this, then realize what alpha is saying, and accuses:?)
Vexen: You put the Main Computer functions on the external.
Alpha: I… thought it would be nice to have a backup. Is there anything wrong in that?
Vexen: I suppose not, but it doesn’t matter. Axel knew where the external was.
Alpha: That’s not my fault! How was I supposed to know that Axel knew where it was? It’s not like I told him! I mean, I guess someone else could’ve—though I’m not sure who, as few people knew where it was to begin with—but can you blame them? He was very convincingly pretending he was on our side
Vexen: Pah. You should’ve known he’d turn out to be a filthy double crosser
Alpha: He fooled even you, if I remember correctly.
Vexen: Not my fault. I was hoping he was merely betraying the Organization, here, instead of betraying us—who are technically the traitors. Well, you are. I’m not from this universe. No doubt that they’d kill me anyway, if they found me. Though… if they knew just who I was. Oh lord. Xemnas might force me into taking charge of the Replica Program
Alpha: That could be a good thing
Vexen: Depends. No offense meant to you or anything, but if Xemnas forces me to do something, I’m not going to go against his orders. I’ll probably just run to the other universe and hide there. The tactic works. And—
Alpha: Are you saying that you’re a filthy coward?
Vexen: Well, I—
Alpha: You’re as much of a filthy coward as Axel is a filthy double-crosser. Admit it.
Vexen: I have a high sense of self-preservation. Besides, would you want Xehanort to force me to, I don’t know, clone him? How would you like six Xehanort clones walking around the Worlds?
Alpha: Xehanort?
Vexen: Xemnas. Whatever. Same person.
Alpha: Would he…?
Vexen: I’m not sure. I really don’t want to think about it. There are many things I wouldn’t put it past Xehanort to do.
Alpha: Xemnas, you mean.

Vexen: Either of them

~yup!!

Now, last bit of the chapter with 7...

I really love 7. Lol. I think, if you forced me to pick my favorite Vexen, it'd probably be him. (But I do honestly love them all.)

Oh. Well then.
"NO! NO NO NO NO NO I AM NOT WORDING IT LIKE THAT. “Cold seeped from him like a virus” (I don’t even think it’s a proper comparison…) BUT NO THE R FEELS. I can’t do that to 7. (He’d about have a heart-attack and lose his focus.)"

Yeah, I remember trying to make that comparison, but quickly decided against it.

Heheh.
"Ice. Not frost. Ice. This isn't Jack."

And... now have a rant about Medics:

You'd think Medics would be better at healing wounds without aid of the Repair Program--it'd seem awfully unlike Vexen to overlook such a thing. I imagine he'd build his Replicas to be able to cover all aspects of whatever task they were built to do.
Then again, 7 could be so old a Replica that he wasn't Programmed that way, since he was one of the first Replicas (and the first Medic), and such a thought occurred to Vexen later. Maybe other Medics were Programmed differently. Maybe Lotus is good at healing. (Though... Lotus was created only five Replicas later...)

Wait! I have it! Vexen made Lotus a Medic for that reason--to fix the error of 7 being too dependent on the Repair Program. (There's a chance that, that early on, it was a lot harder to go back an edit a Replica, for some reason, which is why he didn't just edit 7 to fix the problem. Unless Vexen only edited Replicas when absolutely necessary... or maybe he didn't see the need...? *shrugs*)

And, ah, that's everything.

Yup.

Cool
