ANYWAY that in mind, since it is largely scenes that are FtPverse "canon" and not even a crossover, I thought it might be nice for y'all to have a list of what happens in each chapter. You don't have to read all of it, but now you can pick the parts you might be interested in. The Important Ones have been marked with stars, the more stars the more important it is.
Be wary of continuity errors due to all the edits I've made (rewriting Nothing's Fair, editing Dead Inside and TTH, etc) because um, they sure do exist.
Chapter 1 - Magik's Vexen Replica Pi discovers the other universe.
** Chapters 2-6 - in which Vexen arrives and Riku isn't exactly happy about it. Takes six chapters because we did a new chapter each time we swapped who was writing. Continuity errors are abundant, but since this event isn't covered in Dead Inside you might?? want to check it out?? "rar just rewrite it" I CAN'T
Chapter 7 - General talks about the differences between universes, solidifies that FtPverse runs behind AtPverse time wise. I forget if the time difference comes up too or not here but SHRUGS. also fuck, Edd is here, knife emojis times a million,
Chapter 8 - Joseph and Vexen talk about why Vexen's even in this universe, Joseph suggests he can stay because, well, Xehanort Replicas,
* Chapter 9 - A scene sort of about 29 and Joseph's relationship, and how 29 landed the job looking after him anyway??? Lacks references to the other experiments because, they didn't exist in my brain yet at the time of writing this, rip,
Chapter 10 - IGNORE THIS CHAPTER BECAUSE IT'S POINTLESS AND I RETCONNED THE EVENTS OF IT WHEN I REWROTE NOTHINGS' FAIR
CHAPTER 11 ISNT' EXCITING
Chapter 12 - 33 (Raymond's caretaker) shows up. He's a bit of an ass. 29 chews him out.
Chapter 13 - Some Joseph and Vexen interaction?? If you're interested in watching their relationship develop (especially since Joseph is known as the only person who is extremely fond of Vexen) you might want to check it out, but be wary of continuity, per usual. ((Glaring one: Joseph wouldn't let Vexen rebuild his friends, nor would he be entirely comfortable with having new friends created for him. It's different if they were already there, you know?))
Chapters 14-17 - a battle sequence for some reason????? Larxene C is here, and dies. There's a funny 6 moment. Joseph gets electrocuted, thinks it's kind of fun, Riku thinks he's fucking crazy. Would I still call that canon now? Debatable.
Chapter 18 - some explanation around Vexen Replica 14. If you want thoughts as to him being a traitor (which comes up in Dead Inside, we're finally hitting Dead Inside events,)
Chapter 19 - Vexen has some thoughts about FtP's Sora.
Chapter 20 - This is Vexen's POV of DIch11. It's not bad.
CHAPTER 21 IS WHATEVER
Chapter 22 - Axel plays double agent. How.... how many "the Rebellion actually does Rebelliony things" / "depictions of raids on C.O." chapters are in Can't Escape, lmfao, (IT'S A PRETTY DECENT CHAPTER, KIND OF INTERESTING, BUT NOT PIVOTAL FOR DEAD INSIDE'S PLOT)
Chapter 23 is w h a t e v e r
Chapters 24-25 - MAGIKS'S CHARACTERS ARE FINALLY HERE??? Joseph ends up in the wrong Twilight Town, and talks to her Sora, Riku, Kairi and Axel.
Chapter 26 - Magik wrote a bunch of random scenes about Marluxia Replica Thistle
Chapter 27 - A day in the Life of Alpha, courtesy of Magik. Interesting, consists of the introduction of that one assassin Axel trained to warn of the raids, as well as some fun Alpha and Vexen (and Joseph) dynamics.
Chapter 28-29 - Another misc raid on Castle Oblivion which magik wrote.
Chapter 30-31 - The one where Sora's Shadow terrorizes 6.
** Chapters 32-37 - Tulip gets Rewritten. Technically the first introduction of 37 and L being... well??? Some good 37 and L stuff in here if I'm honest. This is the raid that comes up in DIch72, which happens right on the aftermath of it all. Chapter 37 actually trails into a different sequence in the second half, but it starts on this sequence so alright that's fine.
Chapters 37-38 - Joseph ends up on Destiny Islands and chats with Kairi (by Magik). Shad is here. Uh. Not really canon anymore?? Or rather, it's "ambiguously canon", since Kairi still mentions meeting Joseph previously in DIch104 (she's referring to this). ANYWAY like, I don't think this characterization is spot on anymore with my changes and also like. Don't. think about how Joseph totally should have taken Kairi to C.O. with him jsut dont' think about it.
** Chapters 39-42 - WOW MAGIK'S CHARACTERS ARE FINALLY HERE AGAIN..... Kairi and Namine and Xion end up in HB. Shad is also there. Aerith throws something at him. It's a pretty good scene actually?? It comes up vaguely in DIch105 I think, Aerith mentions not wanting to mention that they visited to Riku. NOT TECHNICALLY IMPORTANT, BUT A LOT OF FUN. Did you want to read Shad and magik's Namine having a row? Did you want to see magik's Namine figure out where Repliku is???? Check this out maybe.
* Chapters 43-44 - Another one that actually involves Magik's characters! her Axel accidentally ends up in my universe, meets my Axel. Joseph runs into them?? Happens along with DIch91-92.
** Chapters 45-48 - I think we finally hit the point where all of this is actually a crossover instead of just "Magik writes things within my continuity" lol. Her Riku and Namine end up in HB and run into Shad, again. If you enjoyed Namine and Shad having a go at each other the first time, then, well. OH YEAH also it picks up off of DIch106. Nice. Also makes FtP's Riku's problem (re: being loved) blatantly obvious. (Ok Shad's exaggerating a little it's probably more Larxene's fault than magik's Namine's but still.) Also also explains why Shad hates Tifa.
Chapter 49 - Some stuff about Toby. Not a crossover. It's whatever.
CHAPTER 50 IS WHATEVER, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT
Chapters 51-53 - Another crossover!! my Kairi and Tifa end up in Magik's universe. Run into her Kairi and Roxas. It's not a bad scene, but probably inaccurate things going on re: my Kairi??? Comes up in later Dead Inside chapters, but I'm nearly positive it won't kill you if you skip it.
**Chapters 54-60 - THE IENZO SEQUENCE!! Vexen has a lot of feels about Ienzo, pops back to Magik's universe long enough to visit him. My favorite Can't Escape sequence, hands down, though actually 45-48 is pretty good. ANYHOO, has some Vexen character development, especially because this is him working through how he feels re: Riku. Nice.
**Chapter 61 - Magik's Axel is here again. Saves Riku from falling off a cliff. Directly referenced in DIch167, which deals with the aftermath of Riku nearly falling off a fucking cliff, oh and Axel bringing up Magik's Namine, you know.
**Chapters 62-65 (end) - THE BIG CROSSOVER!!! Picks up right after DIch179. Vexen drags Riku back to the parallel universe For Science. my Riku and Magik's main cast (Sora, Riku, Namine, Kairi) talk about life and things, give a run down on what's all happened in each universe. Honestly: not as interesting as it could have been, in hindsight?? Oh well.
