I finished Majora's Mask, and it was really fun!! It's definitely in my top three favorite Zelda games, and might just be tied with Twilight Princess for top fave. I just really loved the vibes it was giving off, and stuff, and while I could babble about it here, you could also just go to my tumblr and hear me babble about it there.

Nothing's Fair chapters 24-26 (Endgame part 1)
First off: I am sorry this is three (four?) days late as opposed to just two. It was my birthday. I got a Wii U. I'm attempting to finish Majora's Mask before I get too far into Hyrule Warriors, but, mainly, just that it was my birthday and also we went to ren fair and I had a friend over for like half the week, etc, etc.
ON ME HAVING A WII U: We got money from a tax refund and my mom was like "well I have enough money now and it's your birthday so uh yeah" and it showed up two days after we ordered it and Hyrule Warriors showed up exactly on my birthday (a few days before we expected it) which was pretty neat!!
So far I only have Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, and Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U, and I've played around with all of them, and they're all a lot of fun!!! I'm only a few scenarios into Hyrule Warriors but I'm loving it so far (also I got the Majora's Mask DLC and running around yelling "I'M NINE" as I slay monsters as young Link is SUPER fun).
As for Majora's Mask, as I've already said, I really really love it. It's probably ranking at second favorite Zelda game after Twilight Princess, though it's just a really good game in general, and I understand now what all the hype was about.
Please listen to this Majora's Mask fanmix!!! It's on grooveshark, unfortunately, but all you have to do is hit the play all button, easy peasey, and it's REALLY GOOD and what actually got me to sit down and start the game up again, so, uh, please listen to it. ((Also make sure to listen to the song "24" by Jem bc it was deleted from the mix by grooveshark))
FtPverse update stuff
Nothing's Fair is on it's last few chapters, and I should have those up by the end of this week.
I may need a week or two hiatus before I can start updating All that Remains again, because I spent most of my time writing fics about Kairi and Aqua instead of working up its buffer. Oh well.
(Besides, it's probably best if I give a week or so for everyone to digest Nothing's Fair, at any rate.)

I was on a kick of "constantly listening to sad music" while writing these chapters, and the mix I played on near repeat was this Birth by Sleep mix (which is less Birth by Sleep and more "general sad songs that vaguely fit it" but it's still a good mix)

This chapter actually made me cry a little. So.

Axel called (thought about calling) it a beach date and
then I got sad about RokuKai’s beach date in Dead Inside
OHHH MMYYYY GOOOSHHH I made a note to myself about “this is
sorta like that scene in days where he stops her from going into CO” but I
meant that only in terms of conversation and REALLY just in him trying to stop
her
But i??? I didn’t realize how much I was channeling the body
language in that until about now. It’s not perfect but it’s still…. pretty……
similar……..
I don't remember if this chapter made me cry like the last one did, but I do distinctly remember feeling like I had been punched in the gut after writing it because Axel was upset and I was upset

I actually considered not putting in the beach scene because I didn't see the point in the plot to include it, but then I realized it helped my pacing, so that we weren't rushing straight to the ending, so we had a breather
Also so the ending wouldn't come off so strongly as Things which I actually can't talk about because I guess it's spoilers, so, that'll be for the next and Final post

Nothing's Fair ch19-23
But first, an update on my life.
I've started playing Majora's Mask recently, and it's actually really good!! Not that I entirely expected any less? I've had the game for like five years but had to quit like an hour into playing it because the time limit was making me REALLY anxious. Of course, I realize now, it takes the full three days to get your ocarina back whether you want it to or not, so it really doesn't matter how long it takes you to do everything else.
Of course, I'm playing the N64 version--I know the 3DS version has better graphics, and potentially better controls and bug fixes (along with some neat easter eggs), but I don't have thirty bucks to drop on a remaster of a game I already own.
"But. What about. The KH remixes?" LOOK! Okay. Final Mix additions are a whole different story. And, honestly, in hindsight, if I'd known the Days movie would be as bad as it was, I wouldn't have gotten 1.5, because KH1FM isn't really worth it?? Extra cutscenes are nice, but it only had, uh, five extra bosses and the only memorable one was Xemnas.
KH2FM though was??? Wow worth it. There's like ten extra fully voiced scenes, along with like 20+ extra bosses, and even puzzle collecting and completing Jiminy's Journal (a requirement for unlocking the secret ending.....) were FUN. Infuriating at times, yeah, but over all, REALLY FUN.
Anyway, Majora's Mask has been pretty fun so far!! It might be a while before I finish it, but my plans to play Mother 1 have been well put off because of it...... Whoops?
I've been sitting on this mix for a while--not that it's mine, I've just been sitting on sharing it!! Enjoy.

I've started playing Majora's Mask recently, and it's actually really good!! Not that I entirely expected any less? Nothing's Fair chapters 16-18
This is on time!!! The chapters, eh, not so much. Oh well.
Update stuff:
I finished the outline for part 2 (I guess?) of All that Remains and while I haven't started writing it as of typing this, I will probably start it tonight! Ay!
I wrote a fic where Aqua shows up at the end of KH2 and everyone on tumblr loves it!
I wrote a FtPverse related scene documenting Aqua's return from the Realm of Darkness! (it has a liveblog on tumblr)
This may be old news, but I wrote a fic about Kairi tagging a long in KH3Dbc she really should have called "Dream, Drop, Don't Leave Me Behind" and you should check it out, along with the kairineedslove2k15 movement! *double thumbs up*

I don't have a lot to say about this but I am actually REALLY happy w/ how I included this plot point w/o writing any of the battle. I was under a policy of "write as few battles as possible" for this, and may continue the policy well into ATR.

I put down 3 months at first and then went “wait hang on
it’s been longer than that” but no, it has not, according to the calendar. I
suppose it might have been four months by now but??? Eh it’s a month difference.
I intended Delta to be like “SAYS THE GUY WHO’S WORKIG WITH
MASTER VEXEN’S KILLER” and Alpha clarify what was brought up in ch14 with a “please
Delta you know none of us are strong enough to dream of taking the Organization
despite being made from their powers—but Riku?” and then Delta laughs “ah so
you’re using him”
Buuut anyway it wasn’t flowing plus I mean, there wasn't any harm in cutting it, the fact that Alpha is using Riku was made obvious in chapter 14, all this did was finish Alpha's half started "I mean what better asset to--take down the Organization", which wasn't necessary becuase it was already pretty obvious.

Nothing's Fair chapter 3-5
Recent Stuff
An AU sequence that takes place during Dead Inside has been uploaded to ASAS---Roxas meets magik's Roxas and Xion, and seeing her triggers his suppressed memories, along with a certain failsafe...

I came up with an AU of FtPverse called Mirrorverse, and I really love it. It was initially started by an episode of Stargate SG1 that had parallel versions of the SG1 team show up, and I was like "I wanna write shenanigans like this that involve a different set of characters than magik's"
Well, it sort of snowballed into me coming up with all the details about these Mirrorverse counterparts.
The main element of Mirrorverse is SoRiKai dynamic--Namine was never built, and SoRiKai go through KH1 together. The crowning moment is that in CoM, instead of memory manipulation, the Organization creates Replicas of SoRiKai.
So you have a Replica SoRiKai team working for the Organization and the plot of "KH2" turns into "SoRiKai bickering and battling Replica SoRiKai" and it is so good.
I don't have time to write it, of course, or certainly not now, but... Gosh I wish I did.
Mirrorverse has a tag on my tumblr, and perhaps I'll talk about it on this blog at a later date.

Nothing's Fair (ch1-2)
Even though I'm posting a chapter every day, I'm not doing a chapter commentary every day, because that would be insane. I'll do a commentary every few chapters or so.
I did want to post a commentary for the first chapter, and since I didn't get to do that, I wanted to make sure to do one with the second chapter.

I felt really weird posting the first post about Nothing's Fair without posting the finished soundtrack, so, hello, here we are.
Keep in mind that most of these songs address themes that don't come up until later in the story (chapter 8 or so) and, while saying "don't listen because spoilers" is silly, I am refraining from posting a tracklist and liner notes until I'm further along. Listen if you want, listen if you don't want, I don't think anything is obviously spoilers.
I'll post the mix again when I have liner notes for it.

THIS SCENE

Also, if you haven't heard already, it is 100% canon that Joseph has an N64
And since I don't think I've talked about his 64, we're gonna talk about it!
See, there's at least a month where Joseph was kind of hiding in Castle Oblivion (to stay away from Saix) and 29 needed some way to keep Joseph occupied and out of Saix's way and from wandering back to TWTNW was, so... he bought him a Nintendo 64.
Why an N64 when they're kind of old? (I mean the fic takes place in 2011 according to the OFFICIAL timeline (and calendar) but even if it took place in 2002 the GameCube would be out by then)
But the N64 was the first one he found (for a decent price), probably at yard sale. It was packaged with Mario Party 1, Mario Kart, and Super Mario 64.
(Tbh it's only packaged with them because I can't see 29 buying them separately. At least not Mario Party or Mario Kart, since they're multiplayer, for the most part.)
Joseph eventually did all he could with Mario Party and Mario Kart, and also got stuck on Super Mario 64 (it's certainly not the easiest game ever; I certainly can see Joseph getting stuck on a level--or mulitple levels--and being bored and wanting something new). So 29 bought Joseph other games, like Ocarina of Time (which he's actually playing in this chapter), and then Star Fox 64, and Paper Mario.
Yup.
(Joseph also hasn't played Super Smash Brothers because I really can't see 29 buying that for him, and then later he and Toby get Yoshi's Story. Offset. Not in-story. I meant to have a thing on tumblr about it but that hasn't happened yet)

Rebellion timing... stuff.
Yeah. I needed to post this, I just didn't post it yesterday for some reason, and I was putting off posting it the day before because I'd already spammed you with posts. So. Posting it now. post post post!
Oh, but, btw, don't miss the updates I posted yesterday.
Anyway, this came up back when I was writing that conversation between Q and Amaryllis. ch...something of Can't Escape. I think the chapter was called "Forbidden Meeting". I was working on timing, trying to figure out just how long it'd been since they'd last seen each other.
I actually mentioned said timeline thingy in the chapter itself. Huh. (well, the author's note before the chapter)
Now, to the explanation!!

See, I placed the Rebellion beginning and Saix going on a rampage at about the same time: shortly after the Truth Hurts. Logical, yes, because that would be when the Program was handed over to SAix and many of the Replicas were like "no, we don't want to do this".
However, after thinking about it, I realized that wasn't accurate. The Rebellion isn't really mentioned until Nothing's Fair, and there's a three a half month gap between the Truth Hurts and Nothing's Fair. (There's a three month gap between the Truth Hurts and Falling to Pieces, and FtP takes all of two weeks). And when the Rebellion's first mentioned, it isn't obvious, just whispers of it starting; the full out Rebellion cannot have begun before Nothing's Fair -- Roxas has absolutely no trouble going to CO, which he would've had if the Rebellion truly started before then.
So the Rebellion truly begins (as in it stops being "a few Replicas working against Saix" to "Replicas with Riku vs. Replicas with Saix") sometime during Nothing's Fair. Most likely, about a month or so after it begins (so, roughly a month into Riku's search for Sora).
Backing up, let's say a few weeks--a month at latest--after the Truth Hurts, the Program is handed over to Saix, and there is minor unrest. Many Replicas go rouge, though it isn't enough for Saix to be extremely worried; he figures he's better off without them. (Most of them are Vexen Replicas who were extremely loyal to the Original Vexen.)
Saix begins purging the Program of mistakes--namely, the kids. He probably doesn't kill them all at once, but instead picks out the ones with defects and starts with them, narrowing it down until the only kids left are the ones with absolutely nothing wrong with them.
As time wears on, more Replicas either go rogue or migrate to CO. Saix never sets foot in CO, so it isn't hard for Replicas who want to avoid him to hide there. When Riku shows up in CO, many of the Replicas there start working "for" him, figuring that they'd rather be on his good side if Saix were to come hunt them down. They likely believed that if Saix ever did set foot in CO, Riku'd end up battling and possibly even killing him.
The Rebellion starts becoming noticeable as more and more Replicas defect to "Riku's" side. About a month or so after Riku shows up in CO, Saix has lost so many Replicas that he loses it (goes berserk, lol). He gathers all the Replicas he still has control over and tells them that if they aren't going to be loyal to him and the Organization, they best run now and stay out of his site, before he summons his claymore and starts killing Replicas.
Chaos ensues. (This is the chaos battle mentioned on the Replica page)
Whatever kids are left are killed in this battle (minus Joseph, who 29 has probably already relocated to Castle Oblivion), and few Replicas that aren't loyal to Saix escape the battle. Amaryllis and Snapdragon are the only two people known to have done so.
Actually, Snapdragon spends a lot of time fighting in said battle and kills many Replicas loyal to Saix before eventually retreating to CO.
It is likely that many of the Zexion Replicas are still around during this battle, and Alpha is the only one among them who is against Saix. This could be how/where he was betrayed by his three best friends (see the first questions thingy, ch27 of ASAS if you don't remember this), but I'm considering other possibilities. If Alpha is present during this battle, he'll fight his way to a computer (either in TWTNW, or retreating to CO) where he disables his brethren and possibly other Replicas.
Of course, I realize there is a small continuity issue here, as the passwords for Disabling are the original passwords, and Alpha can't know those because they haven't been changed. So, I suppose he was using a hack to get into the computer and the hack eventually stopped working. Or he found a computer that someone had forgot to log out of and therefore didn't need to enter any passwords. I hate continuity errors. I wish I could snap my fingers and fix them all, but for the moment I'll just have to ask to kindly turn a blind eye, while I come up with excuses. There are too many continuity things for me to go through and fix. Though I might rewrite Nothing's Fair... just because its so short and that's where the worst of the continuity errors are.
According to Nothing's Fair, it is roughly a month before all connection is cut off between TWTNW and CO. The reasons for this are likely just that it isn't immediately clear that all the Replicas in Rebellion against Saix reside there.
